Listening techniques : An Osteopathic Approach to Evaluation Procedures

The focus for the entire Visceral Manipulation curriculum is to listen and understand the body's messages.

Dora Franco, B.Sc., D.O., BI-D ( www.terapia-sacrocraniana.blogspot.com ) completed the Course Listening Techniques : An Osteopathic Approach to Evaluation Procedures, a specific hands-on diagnostic techniques' Course developed by the Barral Institute in order to properly perform Visceral manipulation, targeting a deeper understanding of the theories and principles of visceral motion.

This course helps therapists to reinforce the powerful "listening" skills (palpation procedure) learned during the core Visceral Manipulation courses. It pays regard to the fact that visceral systems' anatomy and biomechanics can vary due to a number of possible internal and external influences, and helps to interpret the information the body is offering regarding imbalances and dysfunctions.

Through palpation, experienced therapists determine the body structures involved, monitor how the systems affect each other and identify the best approach and the amount of force needed to reach the most therapeutically efficient treatment results.
